On 21 November 1943, when hunting in the area of Gr\u0105dy-Woniecko, the Germans discovered footprints around the farm of Piotr Ko\u015bcielecki, which was situated close to the forest. The footprints led them to Jews who had escaped from the local ghettos when they were liquidated towards the end of 1942 and were hiding in haystacks. Three Jews were killed on the spot. The others, including a woman unknown by surname, managed to escape. Piotr was not home at the time. The Germans returned on the following day. They led Piotr Ko\u015bcielecki out of the house, beat him and then shot him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The civilians brought to the execution site had to dig a pit and bury the murdered people. The Germans also ordered them to dismantle the house and other farm buildings, while movables and livestock were transported to the gendarmerie station in Rutki. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
